FOR WHEN THERE?S NOTHING IN YOUR DIARY
We looked at our first tip yesterday and here?s my second action tip -? #2 for Direct Selling Consultants and Leaders frustrated with nothing, or very little, in their forward plan.
Remember in yesterday?s blog I shared it?s about doing something to raise awareness and lift that visibility? Well I wonder if you know this; the fastest way to improving self-esteem is task completion. Now I?m deliberately raising self-esteem here because if you?re a direct sales consultant with nothing in your forward plan ? no demos, no dates no trunk shows, no pop-up shops to go to? it?s fair to say you?re likely feeling pretty down on yourself. Well you?re going to love this tip, because it is so simple to get happening, and you?ll immediately feel better with yourself when you secure a group demo date or a personal appointment.

ACTION TIP #2 ? SEE YOUR FREE WEEKLY NEWSPAPER?S COMMUNITY COLUMN
No matter what town, suburb, area you live in; most communities have a local newspaper delivered to homes, free each week. It?s generally chock full of what?s happening in the community, some local news, some letters to the editor and?.the GOLD page I?m encouraging YOU to look out for and turn to with determination?..the community noticeboard!

So here?s an example of mine, from my local paper delivered straight to the letterbox each week. I wonder if you?ve noticed what this represents. There?s a lot of clubs here that have meetings weekly, fortnightly or monthly and most of them value having a Guest Speaker.
Here?s my tip. Sit down with your community noticeboard page and a highlighter. Circle or highlight the clubs where your product is of potential value to the club members. For example; if it?s a garden club and you have a hand scrub, or you have microfibres to clean garden tools ? it?s a match! Pick up the phone and dial the number shown. Offer your services as a Guest Speaker and secure the date in your diary.
Now I want to help you further. This speaking engagement is NOT about selling. Remember, you have no bookings in your diary and the art of booking appointment and getting in front of more and more people is the critical lifeblood of your business. You?re turning up to share a little of your story and your rewarding journey, in your direct sales role with YOUR direct selling company. Make it engaging. Make it fascinating. Include a product experience for the listeners and give them a simple option if they?d like to see more and experience more in the comfort of their own home. Include genuine stories about the difference your product has made to people you?ve met so far in the months/years you?ve been with your direct selling company. If you?ve travelled with direct sales; share a highlight about one of your destinations and what it meant to you to be there.

Consider including a lucky draw. To enter, the club members jot their name, phone and email down on a form or note pad you?ve supplied, and a winner is announced. Send a personal thank you email to all, upon your return home ? you?ve gone home with their email addresses remember!
Okay so that?s action tip #2? ? open your free weekly newspaper to the community column and go and present to a local club or group as a guest speaker.
Create interest in you and your product; create the need and create appointments in your diary.
